West White Rose Wellhead Platform
Marystown, Newfoundland
Husky is expanding its White Rose development to include the North Amethyst, West White Rose and South White Rose satellite fields. This fixed-wellhead platform will access reserves in the West White Rose field, which is estimated to hold nearly 115 million barrels of oil. The platform consists of a concrete gravity structure and an integrated topsides tied back to the SeaRose floating production, storage and offloading vessel through subsea infrastructure.
Kiewit fabricated, constructed and integrated the 25,000-ton topsides including the facilities services block, a 144-person living quarters, a flare boom, a helideck, two lifeboat stations, drilling substructures, drilling floor and utilities. Fabrication was completed at our Ingleside, Texas, and our Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador yards.
This is the first time the innovative technology has been used in Newfoundland and Labrador.
