Riley Ridge Gas Processing Plant

Kiewit subsidiary, TIC, was the general contractor for a 400-million-standard-cubic-feet-per-day grassroots gas-processing facility. The plant extracts helium by processing natural gas and separating liquid hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from the gas stream, and re-injects the waste material back underground.

The entire project was carbon neutral and considered an environmental landmark by the natural gas industry for its use of cutting-edge processing technology. This plant is expected to operate 50 years, producing approximately 10% of America’s helium supply.
