Propane Dehydrogenation Project

Propane Dehydrogenation Project

Strathcona County / Redwater, Alberta

Kiewit constructed this propane dehydrogenation (PDH) facility, Canada’s first integrated PDH and polypropylene complex. The facility converts 22,000 barrels per day of local, low-cost propane into 525,000 tons per year of polymer-grade propylene, which is used to manufacture many everyday products, such as packaging, textiles and automobile components. Our scope of work included fabricating 170 pipe rack modules across multiple module yards and pipe fabrication facilities as well as multi-discipline site work.
