Kiewit was selected for the construction of the new Exposition Light Rail Line Operations and Maintenance Facility (OMF), servicing the new 15.2-mile line running from downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. The Kiewit-constructed OMF consists of four buildings totaling over 120,000 SF, which include distinct spaces for administration, operations, maintenance, and servicing. The facility contains six storage tracks designed for three-car train consists, a light maintenance and repair shop, administration facility, a run-through car wash building, double track interior car cleaning platform with integrated vacuuming systems, a wheel truing machine designed to service the entire LA Metro fleet, yard control center, a traction power substation designed to maintain the fleet of 45 vehicles.

Additionally located on the narrow 10 acre site are multiple staff and visitor parking lots, concrete paved aprons, ramps and roadways, landscaping, a massive perimeter security wall, and a 24/7 guarded entry building.
