Kiewit and strategic alliance partner GIA completed the engineering, procurement and construction of two compressor stations and two sets of collocated gas regulating and metering facilities for a NPS 36 natural gas pipeline that extends through Hidalgo and San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

The facilities interconnect the Tuxpan-Tula gas pipeline and the Villa de Reyes-Aguascalientes-Guadalajara gas pipeline with a capacity of 900 million standard cubic feet per day. This system supplies natural gas to new power generation plants, as well as those currently operating with fuel oil, which will be converted to use natural gas as their base fuel.

The project was completed on schedule and within budget, with no recordable injuries.
