Ocean Terminal Wharf was designed by Moffatt & Nichol, with Kiewit Corporation subsidiary TIC – The Industrial Company (TIC) serving as the prime contractor. The project was executed for the Georgia Ports Authority.

TIC was contracted to demolish eight berths along the Savannah River at the Georgia Ports Authority’s Ocean Terminal Facility as part of a major modernization effort. This work repositions the new wharf face approximately 100 feet inland, enabling larger vessels to berth without interfering with the navigational channel.

In addition to wharf demolition, the project requires the removal of seven buildings, totaling 610,000 square feet. Once completed, the new wharf will span 2,800 linear feet and feature two cutting-edge berths designed to accommodate vessels of 14,000 TEU or larger. This redevelopment aligns with the port’s long-term growth strategy, enhancing cargo capacity and operational efficiency to meet the demands of the evolving maritime industry.
