Weeks Marine, a Kiewit Corporation subsidiary, was awarded a $42.9 million contract for the Fire Island Inlet to Montauk Point Coastal Storm Risk Management Project. The work involved beach nourishment and coastal protection along Long Island’s south shore. The project scope included:
- Dredging and placement of over 1.2 million cubic yards of sand to restore dunes and berms
- Storm resilience improvements to safeguard upland infrastructure and critical assets
- Execution under tight environmental windows and regulatory constraints.
To support this work, the team coordinated offshore borrow area operations and shoreline logistics to meet schedule and compliance requirements. Weeks Marine delivered the project safely and efficiently, enhancing both habitat and visitor experience.
The project was recognized with ENR’s 2025 Merit Award in Water/Environment and ENR’s 2025 Best in Safety Award.
