Henry Ford Health Central Energy Hub
Henry Ford Health Energy Partners, led by Kiewit Development Company and including Kiewit Power Constructors Co. and Veolia Energy Operating Services, LLC, was selected by Henry Ford Health to design and build the system’s new Central Energy Hub (CEH), a key component of its Detroit campus transformation. The CEH will provide heating and cooling to the new hospital facilities and incorporate advanced technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supporting Henry Ford Health’s overall goal of achieving net zero emissions.

University Of Maryland NextGen Energy Program
Maryland Energy Impact Partners (MEIP), which includes Plenary Americas, Kiewit Development Company, Kiewit Power Constructors Co. and Honeywell, is partnering with the University of Maryland to deliver the NextGen Energy Program. This program aims to upgrade and modernize the university’s energy system, providing decades of sustainable energy. Kiewit is the co-developer, lead engineer and contractor for this project. As part of the Capital Improvements, MEIP will provide expertise and services for a Decarbonization Strategy Development Plan.

Naheola Biomass Fueled Boiler
Provided engineering, procurement, construction and start-up services for a 45 MW, 550,000 pound-per-hour biomass-fueled boiler and an accompanying steam turbine generator (STG). The boiler/STG effectively turns a waste byproduct into a renewable source of energy for the self-sufficient mill.
Biogas Processing Plants
Provided engineering, procurement and construction services for three biogas processing plants at existing milking cow dairies. The project scope involved the installation of biodigesters, gas upgrade membrane skids and truck-loading skids. The plants convert dairy farm manure into pipeline-quality natural gas using anaerobic digesters and natural gas membrane upgrade skids.
Landfill Renewable Natural Gas Processing Facilities
Provided engineering, procurement and construction services for two landfill renewable natural gas processing facilities located at existing landfills. The facilities produce renewable natural gas by removing carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen sulfide from the gas stream.
Decarbonization Expertise
As a leader in carbon management, we possess a robust understanding of carbon capture processes and capture applications. Having engineered 45 million tonnes per annum of CO₂ removal, our resume spans pre-combustion, post-combustion and direct CO₂ removal technologies. Application of this experience supports client decarbonization goals.
