Supporting Sustainable, Reliable Energy
To support Colorado Springs Utilities’ Sustainable Energy Plan (SEP) goals to increase power flow and maintain system reliability, a Kiewit subsidiary provided construction services for the utility’s existing Flying Horse Substation. The SEP program facilitates the utility’s transition to more sustainable energy resources. Construction services for Flying Horse Substation included adding a series reactor to the existing 115kV substation.
