Coeur Rochester Merrill-Crowe Plant and Crusher Expansion
Responsible for the addition of a Merrill-Crowe plant and a three-stage crushing circuit at an existing gold and silver mine. The expansion included the construction of one new heap leach pad, one new Merrill-Crowe process plant, and the new three-stage (primary gyratory, secondary cones, tertiary high pressure grind roll) crushing circuit with intermediate stockpiling and reclaim systems, a pre-tertiary screening plant and a truck load out system, along with other associated infrastructure upgrades.
Florence Copper Mine Production Facility
Following a successful ECI phase, provided general contractor services for the new 75-ton-per-day in-situ copper recovery (ISCR) facility, a first of its kind. Through this collaborative pre-construction effort, the team identified project risks, value engineering opportunities, optimized constructability and improved cost and schedule certainty.
Long Harbour Nickel Processing Plant
Located on the island of Newfoundland, the Long Harbour Processing Plant is one of the largest in the world to use a hydrometallurgical process that refines 50,000 tons per year of nickel ore. KBAC Constructors, a partnership between Kiewit, BMA Constructors and GJ Cahill, installed mechanical, piping, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and instrumentation systems in the plant.
