LNG

EPC LEADER IN LNG ACROSS NORTH AMERICA

Over the last 25 years, Kiewit has built some of North America’s most complex and challenging industrial mega-projects. Our capabilities in LNG extend from opportunity evaluation studies and technology selection through FEED, EPC and commissioning for greenfield and brownfield development. From stick-build to modular construction, Kiewit has experience safely delivering large, mid and small-scale LNG projects on schedule and within budget.

HEAVY CIVIL AND MARINE

As an industry leader in heavy civil construction, Kiewit offers expertise beyond liquefaction facilities. We have the resources to self-perform all related heavy civil and marine scopes, including site clearing, dredging, ground improvements and deep foundations, as well as material offloading mooring systems and trestle and jetty structures.

MODULE FABRICATION

Kiewit has a history of producing modules of all sizes on schedule and within budget. Whether self-performing fabrication at one of our yards or managing a third-party module fabricator, our modularization strategies focus on minimizing risk, optimizing productivity and providing cost and schedule certainty.

POWER IN PARTNERSHIP AT FREEPORT LNG

In 2022, an incident caused a shutdown of the Freeport LNG Facility in Freeport, Texas. As the second largest LNG export facility in the United States, the shutdown has caused negative economic impacts on the facility and impacted LNG customers. Kiewit understood the importance of bringing this facility back online — and when the opportunity arose to support the restoration of our client’s facility, we quickly mobilized.

Kiewit’s size and resources allowed our teams to staff up and mobilize to the project site within a few weeks, resulting in a faster start to the schedule. Kiewit was able to provide a total turnkey package, despite not yet knowing the full extent of the damage, and as ongoing assessment and testing of materials continued to shift scope. Kiewit provided and performed all engineering and design services, procurement, construction and commissioning services, all while navigating post-pandemic supply chain challenges to ensure the project stayed on schedule.

Leveraging our in-house software powered by InEight, Kiewit efficiently managed the project from start to finish, mitigating potential delays and ensuring a seamless transition through turnover.

To mitigate financial losses, Kiewit proposed a solution to harvest and install existing pipe to restore service for one phase of this project, significantly reducing the procurement schedule.
