The project involved building a 382,000-square-foot premium pet food manufacturing facility to replace an aging plant. T.E. Ibberson Company (Ibberson) was selected as the design-build contractor based on positive experiences from an earlier project.

The extruded, dry pet food process was designed jointly by Nutro and Ibberson. The facility itself was designed and constructed by Ibberson.
The BlueCross Centre is a 316,000-square-foot, 10-story building with an adjacent three-story parking garage. The garage contains 1,195 parking stalls and consists of poured foundations, shear walls and ramps, precast columns, precast tees (post topped) and architectural spandrels.
T.E. Ibberson Company (Ibberson) was contracted to build a new dry petfood plant. To date, the company had only been involved in cold packaging of pet food products. The new facility advanced the capacity of the company to produce dry pet food, opening up a new market for the company’s expanding business.

The School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences Facility (SFOS) at Lena Point is an $18 million, three-story, 30,000-square-foot educational research facility that provides needed classrooms, laboratories, and faculty and student offices for the university in remote southeast Alaska near Juneau.
The Nebraska Furniture Mart Distribution Center is a state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution center with a high-speed racking system that allows employees to fill 600 customer orders an hour. This project enclosed 511,000 square feet, approximately 12 acres, under one roof. A perimeter mezzanine added approximately 100,000 square feet of office space, furniture assembly, mechanical space and storage to the project for a total finished floor space of 611,000 square feet, or approximately 14 acres.
The 13-story-tall Desert Dome, the world's largest glazed geodesic dome, replicates environments of the Namib Desert in western Africa, the Great Sandy Desert in Australia and the Sonoran Desert in the southwestern United States. The $16.5 million project includes a sand waterfall, a 50-foot mountain, canyons, a cactus forest, and desert flora and fauna. The lower level features the “Kingdoms of the Night” exhibit, which houses the world’s largest indoor nocturnal exhibit.
Completed two months ahead of schedule, the $8.4 million design-build Lutheran High School of the Rockies accommodates 300 students, with potential for growth to accommodate up to 800 students. The 63,000-square-foot building includes classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, administrative offices, an auditorium and a 12,000-square-foot gymnasium with a cushioned, maple sports floor.
Phase I of the Global Operations Center Renovation done under subcontract with Lockheed Martin, was an $8 million design-assist renovation of a 14,000-square-foot facility located two stories beneath the surface. Phase I included upgrades to existing finishes, electrical systems and fire suppression systems, while maintaining full operational capabilities.
Due to satisfaction with the initial contract, USSTRATCOM initiated a significant change to the scope of work and awarded Phase II. The follow-on work, in addition to two other owner-initiated scope changes, was valued at nearly $4 million.
The Blue Cross Centre is a LEED® Silver certified 316,000-square-foot building built to combine company operations in one central location. The 10-story facility has capacity for 1,500 employees and features an employee wellness area, dining facility, administrative spaces and more.
