Key Milestones of Development

1989

Hard Dollar is founded, introducing one of the first computerized estimating systems for the construction industry. This laid the groundwork for what would become InEight Estimate.

1995

QA Software is established in Melbourne, Australia, launching TeamBinder, an early document control solution. This would later evolve into InEight’s Document Control product.

2008

Hard Dollar advances with bidirectional cost-schedule integration and moves into its Scottsdale, AZ headquarters — now InEight’s North American base.

2012

Kiewit invests in Hard Dollar and fully acquires it within a year. This marks a pivotal step in Kiewit’s digital transformation and leadership.

2014

Kiewit officially launches InEight Inc. as a wholly owned subsidiary. The mission is to ensure all project stakeholders have the information they need, when and where they need it, to make better decisions using an end-to-end construction platform.

2016-2022

InEight expands rapidly:

  • Acquires Aeka Consulting, strengthening its global footprint.
  • Launches Basis, the world’s first AI-based project planning and risk management system.
  • Introduces advanced solutions in field execution along with powerful analytics and dashboards.
  • InEight acquires M-SIX, known for its high-performance federated model solution which standardizes and integrates disparate models and project data into a common data environment.
  • After extensive field testing with Kiewit’s teams, InEight Design is launched — offering traceability of design quantities for alternative delivery projects such as design build or EPC work.
  • Acquires Digital Time Capture (DTC), now InEight Billings, to help customers maximize revenue recognition on T&M contracts.
