The project consisted of a 15,000 square-foot Tenant Improvement at the Village Pointe Medical Center. The Ambulatory Surgery Center houses four new operating rooms and two procedure rooms serving patients in the areas of pain management, plastics, ear, nose & throat, allergy, gastrointestinal and general surgery.
The Bellevue Medical Center is a 265,000-square-foot facility designed and built to offer comprehensive patient services. A new medical office building located next to the main hospital added another 60,000 square feet to the project. It is the first full-service hospital in Bellevue, Neb. and was awarded LEED® Certification.
The Nebraska Medical System Cancer Center is housed in a medical office building that was modified to meet the needs of a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center. Kiewit constructed an addition to the building which includes a radiation oncology department with linear accelerator vaults and areas for disease diagnosis, medical examination and infusion therapy.
The Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic is a $67 million 190,000-square-foot facility situated on 13 acres directly adjacent to Elmendorf Air Force Base Hospital's central plant and corridor, which is connected to the new facility. The facility was built under a Kiewit-led joint venture, and has more than 400 rooms, including outpatient surgery rooms; dental suites; surgery suite; ambulatory radiology department; laboratory; pharmacy; and audiology, primary care, mental health, specialty care, physical therapy, prosthetics other service areas.

The Solider Family Care Center is a three-story healthcare facility that is connected to an existing hospital via a two-level connector. The center provides spacious examination and treatment rooms for physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthopedics, podiatry, chiropractic, social work, family medicine, pediatrics and dental, as well as portions of radiology and pharmacy.
This multi-phased project consisted of renovating existing medical office space into 20 adult intensive care units and support areas. The project was completed directly adjacent to functioning surgery and lab areas, requiring close coordination with Medical Center staff throughout the project.
With this project, the Nebraska Medical Center merged two facilities into a single state-of the-art healthcare center. The Center contains four core functional areas: emergency, surgery, radiology and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The combined capabilities of the facility make it the largest emergency department in the Midwest.
The Brain Lab project consisted of the renovation of reclaimed space from a parking garage to house a new beam surgery room. The vault that houses the specialized equipment uses 30-inch-thick concrete walls and a 24-inch-thick concrete roof coupled with a primary lead shield to contain radiation used in patient treatment.
This multi-phased $28 million project completely modernized an existing community hospital in Hastings, Neb. The project work included adding a seven-story addition to an existing bed tower and a one-story addition to the surgery wing. Renovated hospital areas included behavioral health, radiology, labor/delivery, intensive care unit, PACU, pre-op, pain management, endoscopy, recovery and various administrative and support areas.
