Fire Island Inlet - Montauk Point
Weeks Marine, a Kiewit Corporation subsidiary, was awarded a $42.9 million contract for the Fire Island Inlet to Montauk Point Coastal Storm Risk Management Project. The work involved beach nourishment and coastal protection along Long Island’s south shore.

Equipment Spotlight: R.B. WEEKS
Delivered in 2023, the R.B. Weeks, a trailing suction hopper dredge (TSHD), is a self-propelled ship built nearly identical to her sister ship, the Magdalen. The R.B. Weeks carries up to 10,700 tons of sand, the equivalent capacity of 430 dump truck loads.

Port Houston Ship Channel Expansion
Project 11 — the largest-ever U.S. dredging contract — involved widening 8.3 miles of the Houston and 4 miles of the Bayport ship channels using Weeks’ 30-inch hydraulic cutter dredge, the C.R. McCaskill, in one of the nation’s busiest waterways. The completion of this project enhances Port Houston’s capacity to handle more cargo and larger ships and contributes to the conservation and restoration of local wildlife habitats.
