To reduce congestion and improve safety along a critical travel corridor between Phoenix and Flagstaff, Kiewit-Fann Joint Venture delivered upgrades to 23 miles of I-17. The project widened 15 miles of interstate by adding one lane in each direction and constructed 8 miles of reversible flex lanes — an Arizona first — through mountainous terrain.

To support increasing demand on the Las Vegas Strip, Kiewit rebuilt a key interchange to meet future traffic needs and accommodate major events like Super Bowl LVIII. By leveraging integrated engineering, in-house resources and around-the-clock operations, Kiewit delivered under pressure — all while maintaining live traffic in one of the most visited corridors in North America.

As part of a major upgrade to one of Arkansas’ most traveled corridors, Kiewit is leading a joint venture to reconstruct I-30 across the Arkansas River. The 30 Crossing project is ARDOT’s first design-build effort and includes replacing the existing river bridge, rebuilding interchanges and improving local access into downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock.

TxDOT selected South-Point Constructors, a joint venture led by Kiewit, to deliver this $1.6B design-build project to rebuild and widen 16.6 miles of I-20, I-820 and US 287, including major interchange reconstructions. The project enhances safety, mobility and connectivity across the Fort Worth Metroplex and is part of the Texas Clear Lanes initiative targeting congestion hotspots.

To improve year-round access to the remote community of Whatì, Kiewit delivered a 97-kilometer, two-lane gravel road linking the Tłı̨chǫ region to Highway 3. Delivered under a design-build-finance-operate-maintain model, the project replaced a seasonal ice road with reliable, all-weather connectivity — enhancing safety, mobility and economic opportunity for northern residents.
