Bridges

The project scope included constructing two lanes for vehicle traffic extending over the Cataraqui River. It also included the widening of roadway approaches to the bridge to accommodate active transportation and provide appropriate turning lanes that connect Montreal Street with Highway 15.

The 30 Crossing project, ARDOT’s first design-build effort, has been designed to improve congestion and access to downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, one of Arkansas’ most congested highways.

After flood damage from Hurricane Helene, Kiewit was selected by TDOT to deliver the state’s first progressive design-build bridge program. The emergency project rebuilt two critical river crossings under an accelerated schedule, with design, procurement and construction running concurrently.

In less than two years, the team designed and constructed six new permanent bridge crossings — Juliet, Jessica, and Bottletop Bridges — under budget, ahead of target schedule and with strong inclusion of local and Indigenous businesses.

To improve mobility and connect commuters with regional transit options, Kiewit delivered the Redmond Technology Station Pedestrian Bridge — a multi-use pathway spanning SR 520. The new crossing links the RTS light rail station with surrounding businesses, transit hubs and local streets, helping support Redmond’s growing role as a multimodal transportation hub.

Kiewit replaced Nashville’s historic Broadway Bridge — a vital downtown connector over five busy rail lines — within an accelerated eight-week closure using pre-built bridge sections, 3D planning and precise staging. Delivered for the Tennessee DOT under the CMGC method, the project increased vertical clearance and improved access for future downtown development.
