World-Class Plastics Facility
In 2017, Kiewit partnered with Chiyoda for this FEED to EPC opportunity for what would soon become a 1.8 MTPA ethylene plant in Gregory, Texas, known as GCGV. This plant has eight ethane cracking furnaces, an olefins recovery unit and integrated utilities.
In 2018, CKJV, a partnership between Kiewit and Chiyoda, was awarded the EPC contract to design and build the plant on the Texas Gulf Coast. This plastics manufacturing facility, featuring ethane steam cracker units, is also a first-of-its-kind large-scale, modularized ethane plant.

Golden Triangle Polymers Project
In March 2022, Kiewit partnered with JGC to deliver a greenfield 2.08 MTPA ethylene plant at the Golden Triangle Polymers Project in Orange, Texas, which includes the world’s largest ethane steam cracker. The project is expected to be operational in 2026. JGC is responsible for engineering and engineered equipment procurement, while Kiewit is handling site construction, bulk material procurement, module fabrication and transport, temporary facilities and pre-commissioning.
