In early 2023, Kiewit Mining Group was selected to complete mine site development construction and perform contract gold mining services in eastern Alaska. This greenfield development project on Native Alaskan land will provide hundreds of jobs for the local communities, while ensuring the highest environmental safeguards are upheld in some of the most challenging climate conditions in the United States.

This is a camp project with all site personnel staying in camp during their rotating schedule. It utilizes a CAT 6030 front shovel that is loading 100-ton haul trucks to mine both ore and waste on a 24/7 basis.
