Kingsland-Hudson Transmission Structure Upgrade

Weekhawken, New Jersey

As part of the Northeast Grid Reliability Project, Kiewit designed, constructed and upgraded PSE&G’s existing 138-kilovolt power structure to 230-kilovolts to comply with requirements set by the regional energy grid.

Major scope included the design and construction of transmission structure foundations, upgrading and converting the existing 138-kilovolt transmission circuits to 230-kilovolt with new structures, power conductors and optical ground wire.

The Northeast Grid Reliability Project ensures reliable power for nearly one million New Jersey businesses and residents that require increased electric capacity, improved transfer capability, higher power quality and reduced system congestion.
