Distribution on a PMO Scale
To make significant advancements across its grid, PacifiCorp is working with a Kiewit subsidiary to implement a project management office (PMO) for its existing distribution system throughout California, Oregon, Utah and Washington. Through a progressive design-build model, Kiewit’s subsidiary is replacing wood poles, installing advanced protection and controls through relays, fuses and reclosers, and replacing bare aluminum conductor with tree wire or spacer cable (covered conductor). The five-year program has a goal of upgrading at least 350 miles of distribution line per year.
