Les Moulins d’Haiti Flour Mill
Laffiteau, Haiti
Kiewit subsidiary, Ibberson, engineered, procured and constructed a 1,200-ton flour mill rebuild capable of withstanding seismic forces in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. The mill has a capacity of 1,050 tons per 25 hours. All materials, supplies and equipment were sourced, fabricated and shipped from the U.S. to Haiti for the construction of this new mill.
Ibberson hired regional contractors to perform the foundation work, supply concrete and construct the building, floors and parts of the mechanical work for the project. Ibberson personnel operated cranes and supervised construction. A U.S. sourced man camp was provided for international subcontractors during construction.
Won Associated Builders and Contractors’ National Award of Merit and Minnesota Eagle Awards.
