Kiewit fabricated the topsides and mooring piles for this semi-submersible platform.
Construction started in March of 2011 and the construction phase of the project ended in April of 2013. The modules, flare boom, and pipe bridges totaled more than 17,500 tons.
Kiewit's scope included engineering, procurement, and construction of two platforms and two associated jackets. Completing the project in a little over two years, we exceeded the owner expectations, met the schedule, and performed under budget.
The Terra Nova Integrated Swivel Turnaround Project was a $75 million of contract critical importance to the client, as well as the Newfoundland Offshore Oil Industry. The project involved three months at Quayside repair and an upgrade of some of the key systems on board the Terra Nova FPSO, one of three producing installations located offshore Newfoundland.
With a peak employment of more than 1,000 personnel, a Kiewit-led joint venture completed an engineer, procure and construct contract for this 18-module, 11,000-tonne topsides at its Newfoundland fabrication facilities. The topsides were integrated with a hull and turret and completed in July 2005.
Kiewit Offshore Services performed fabrication, lift and set, and integration of 10,400 ton topsides. Scope also included the offload and marshaling of a 12,500 ton semisubmersible hull. The client involved Kiewit early for constructability review, ensuring a seamless project.
Olympus included the fabrication and integration of a 5,000-ton, 192 person-on-board (POB) living quarters for the Shell Olympus Topsides located in the Gulf of Mexico. The structure includes four levels plus an elevated helideck. This 50,000-square-foot facility sailed away in the summer of 2013 following integration.
Kiewit Offshore Services performed module assembly and integration work for two modular capture vessels (MCVs). After completion, modules were dissembled from the vessels and moved to permanent storage where KOS employees, along with MWCC personnel, will maintain the modules so that they are prepared for deployment at all times
