Dickinson Refinery Renewable Diesel Project
Dickinson, North Dakota
Kiewit subsidiary, TIC, was a general contractor for a renewable diesel conversion project at Dickinson Refinery. The refinery had a crude oil capacity of 19,000 barrels per day and primarily processes domestic crude oil from North Dakota and manufactures ultra-low sulfur diesel and gasoline blendstocks.
To provide a cleaner, higher quality product, the client converted the refinery into a 12,000 barrels per day, 100 percent renewable diesel facility, which processes refined soy oil and other organically derived feedstocks.
TIC’s scope includes the concrete foundation work, area paving and electrical grounding for the new hydrogen plant, diesel hydrotreater unit, power distribution center, remote instrument enclosure and hydrogen compressors.
