Stocker Stadium - Grand Junction, Colo.
Home to the Mesa State Mavericks college football team, Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, Colo. is the most highly used field on the Western Slope, hosting as many as four football games a weekend. Kiewit also constructed new high hump, long jump and triple jump areas with polyurethane track to complete the facility.
The scope of work included demolishing and removing the existing natural grass field. Kiewit completely scarified, re-compacted and stabilized the soil prior to the installation of the synthetic turf system. Additional work included relocating artificial turf ancillary support, such as the high jump, long and triple jumps, steeplechase and goal posts. Kiewit also worked around the field's existing track and completed the project in 70 days.
