ArDOT 30 Crossing
Little Rock, Arkansas
Kiewit Massman Construction was selected as the first team to deliver a transportation design-build project in the State of Arkansas on the 30 Crossing project. This complex undertaking includes the reconstruction of Interstate 30, through downtown Little Rock, from the I-630 interchange, through to the I-40 interchange. The project also includes constructing two bridges over the Arkansas River supporting 12 traffic lanes and reconstructing numerous side streets and bridges along 3-mile urban corridor. 30 Crossing provides connections to five interstates and a freeway, a major river crossing over a busy navigation channel, congestion management, and multi-modal considerations – all in the highly visible downtown areas of Little Rock and North Little Rock. As the capstone of the Connecting Arkansas Program (CAP), the Project is the first to use the Planning and Environmental Linkage Study (PELS) to develop long-term solutions. Most importantly, the Project is the means by which to improve the mobility, safety, and longevity of an important thoroughfare for the residents of Central Arkansas.
