We have a simple goal at the Southeast District — tackle the most challenging projects in civil engineering. To meet this goal, our people take part in an extensive training program, covering all facets of construction and management. Training occurs in the classroom and in the field where we apply what we've learned to diverse projects. We offer excellent opportunities for individuals interested in challenging and rewarding careers in the construction industry.
With a current backlog of projects in nearly all areas of the Southeast, our district is poised to play an even bigger role in the growth and prosperity of this region. Our reputation as an innovative leader in the heavy-construction industry makes for rewarding career opportunities. If you share our dedication to excellence and are a recent graduate or experienced professional with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, we'd like to talk with you.
Through our internship/co-op program, we support each individual's development of a strong educational foundation. We offer paid internships that provide on-the-job training for college sophomores, juniors and seniors. These one- to three-year positions have a specific emphasis each term, and are available to students working toward a degree in the fields of:
Construction Engineering Technology
Field operations include the basics of construction, from project structure and organization to project administration. Interns gain an increased understanding of general construction procedures and computer applications.
Estimating and Cost Tracking
Attention to project details is the cornerstone of success. This includes quantity take-offs, production rates, scheduling, bidding, and computer applications.
