Klamath River Renewal Project

Kiewit has been selected to be the prime contractor for the Klamath River Renewal Project. Together with our prime design partner, Knight Piésold, we’ve compiled a team of highly qualified and specialized experts to take on the challenging project.

The Project

The Klamath River Renewal Project involves the removal of four dams on the Klamath River — JC Boyle, Copco No. 1 & 2, and Iron Gate, restoring formerly inundated lands, and implementing required restoration and mitigation measures in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

This project is being delivered through the Progressive Design-Build (PDB) delivery model.  The PDB model allows early collaboration and problem-solving by the project owner, contractor, and designer. Following the PDB model, the project will have two phases.  The first phase, Preliminary Services, will develop project design, provide constructability and planning, and develop a guaranteed maximum price for the project. The second phase, Project Implementation, will follow through on that plan and execute the removals and restoration.

To learn more about the project, please visit the Klamath River Renewal Corporation’s website at: http://www.klamathrenewal.org/

Subcontracting Opportunities

There will be many subcontract opportunities on the project. Since this project is following the PDB delivery model, depending on the type of subcontract work your company wishes to perform, there will be differing timelines for when the Kiewit team will solicit and be in need of your services.
