ATL Runway 8R-26L – Atlanta, GA

The removal and replacement of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s 10,000 ft.-long 8R-26L Runway was completed in 60 days. The project included installation of underdrains, base materials and electrical lighting; and repaving the runway with 20 inch thick Portland cement concrete paving.

I-40 Emergency Bridge Repair – Webbers Falls, OK

On May 26, 2002, tragedy struck when a pair of errant barges hit the I-40 Bridge spanning the Arkansas River. The bridge was reopened to traffic on July 29, 2002 less than 47 days after receiving notice to proceed. The project has been called the fastest completion of its type in U.S. history.

DART - Central Business District Project – Dallas, TX

While working in a narrow corridor in downtown Dallas next to pedestrian and vehicular traffic, Gilbert Texas, a Kiewit affiliate, finished this $29 million, 7,000-ft. light rail project through downtown Dallas in November 1996. The project involved utility relocation, street and sidewalk reconstruction, installation of light-rail track and construction of passenger stations.

I-40/I-27 Interchange – Amarillo, TX

Needed for safety and traffic improvements, this $17.7 million rail grade separation project involved excavating a massive 6,000-ft.-long by 28-ft.-deep trench in Solana Beach, California. The two-year project included construction of retaining walls, utility relocation, track installation, and erection of new platforms and bridge structures.
