ATL Runway 8R-26L – Atlanta, GA

The removal and replacement of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's 10,000 ft.-long 8R-26L Runway was completed in 60 days. The project included installation of underdrains, base materials and electrical lighting; and repaving the runway with 20 inch thick Portland cement concrete paving.

SW Second Avenue Bascule Bridge – Miami, FL

The Second Avenue Bascule Bridge in downtown Miami is the third largest drawbridge in the U.S. and the fourth largest in the world. The project was constructed to alleviate traffic and expand the channel for ships. Completed in September 2003 by a Kiewit subsidiary this $45 million, two-year project involved replacing both halves of the twin, 3,000-ton, 300-ft.-span bascule bridge.

Miami International Airport – Miami, FL

Due to increased air traffic, the Miami International Airport needed to expand. The Dade County, Florida Aviation Department selected a Kiewit subsidiary to begin construction on the $115 million North Runway project. The main scope of work involved constructing an 8,600-ft. runway and two taxiways to increase the airport's capacity by 25%.

I-95 Soundwalls – Miami, FL

A Kiewit subsidiary was selected to construct this $40 million, 7-mi. soundwall project located next to Miami's busiest freeway, I-95. Most of the work was performed at night to minimize the impact of lane closures.
