The All American Canal Lining project is located 20 miles west of Yuma, Arizona in the southeast corner of California. Kiewit Pacific Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is constructing 12.4 miles of new concrete-lined canal through Glamis sand dunes to replace the existing unlined canal at the same elevation as the existing canal.
For nearly six miles of the project the new canal alignment is 850 feet north of the existing alignment. The upper reach of the new canal ties into the existing canal with tie-in structures at each end of the reach. The lower reach is being built much closer to the existing canal with fill placed inside the existing canal prism. The lower reach has tie-in structures at either end with a crossover structure in the middle of the reach where the new alignment crosses from the north side of the canal to the south.
