A Kiewit-led joint venture constructed the second phase of the 22,000-barrels-per-day (BPD), steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) EPC project. The project involved front-end engineering, detailed design, module fabrication, procurement and construction.
The scope of work included a central plant facility, well pads and pipeline as well as a featured 85-megawatt turbine, a generator, a heat recovery steam generator and a once-through steam generator. The team self-performed the excavation, piping, concrete, rotating equipment, module pipe fabrication, electrical, module assembly, instrumentation and structural steel erection.
The project peaked at 800 craft and performed more than 2 million hours without a lost-time incident.
