This project featured the transformation of a 96,000-square-foot building which had previously sat empty for two years into a state-of-the-art behavioral healthcare facility. The scope of work included a complete interior demolition and renovation and all new mechanical, electrical, control, security and network systems.
The Lorikeet Adventure and the Avian Propagation Center, built by Kiewit, was a $6 million project for the Denver Zoo. The Lorikeet Adventure has a 3,500-square-foot open-air walkthrough aviary to see the lorikeets up close and the Avian Propagation Center is one of the largest of its kind in the country to date.
Completed two months ahead of schedule, the $8.4 million design-build Lutheran High School of the Rockies project will accommodate 300 students. The 63,000-square-foot building includes classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, a gymnasium, locker rooms as well as a theatre stage, auditorium and administrative offices.
This multi-phased $28 million project completely modernized an existing community hospital in Hastings, Neb. Kiewit worked closely with hospital administration and the design team to plan and execute the work in a way that did not interfere with ongoing hospital operations. All work was completed on time and on budget.
This $21 million Maui Marketplace project involved the masonry construction of a 300,000-square-foot retail space on a 20-acre site. The scope of work included placing 2,200 concrete masonry unit blocks a day, totaling more than 200,000.
The Brain Lab project consisted of the renovation of reclaimed space from a parking garage to house a new beam surgery room. The vault that houses the specialized equipment uses 30-inch-thick concrete walls and a 24-inch-thick concrete roof coupled with a primary lead shield to contain radiation used in patient treatment.
