Hog Bayou Energy Center – Mobile, AL
This $75.3 million, 240-megawatt project was built in only 22 months from design to start-up. The gas-fired combined-cycle plant includes a 170-megawatt dual fuel combustion turbine generator, a 75-megawatt steam turbine generator and a 900,000-lb./hr. heat recovery steam generator.
High Desert Power Plant – Victorville, CA
Awarded the 2003 Power Plant of the Year, this 830-megawatt combined-cycle power plant consists of three gas combustion turbines and one 323-megawatt steam turbine. A unique feature is that approximately 2,600-acre ft. of water is returned to the aquifer beneath the facility each year.
Santa Rosa Energy Center – Pace, FL
Gilbert Southern beat three project milestones to finish this 250-MW power plant six months early. The fast track project was designed by Kiewit Power Engineers and features a combustion turbine generator, steam turbine generator and three-pressure heat recovery steam generator. The plant is capable of producing both electrical and steam energy.
Los Medanos Energy Center – Pittsburg, CA
Kiewit Pacific provided site grading and pile driving for this 500-MW combined-cycle cogeneration plant. Following the site and foundation work, Kiewit Power Constructors and Kiewit Power Engineers provided engineering, procurement and construction for the complete facility. The scope of work also included startup and commissioning assistance, as well as civil, structural, building and architectural services.
