In January 2002, Kiewit Power Engineers Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, began design services for this $15 million, brigade-size vehicle maintenance facility. Built for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this project supports the 93rd Signal Brigade. Using the design-build delivery method, design services included two vehicle maintenance shops, two hazardous waste storage buildings, two storage buildings for petroleum, oils and lubricants, and a 791,000-sq.-ft. hardstand area. Additional features included vehicle maintenance repair bays with full-width overhead traveling bridge cranes and maintenance pits, administration areas, storage, mechanical and electrical rooms, and anti-terrorism/force protection features.
