The Tower at First National Center – Omaha, NE
Completed on time and under budget, the 46-story granite-and-glass Tower at First National Center forever changed Omaha’s skyline. The project’s scope of work included a 633-ft.-tall office building; a 300-stall, seven-level attached parking structure; three underground tunnels; and a 10,000-sq.-ft. Winter Garden.
Henry Doorly Zoo - Desert Dome – Omaha, NE
The 13-story-tall Desert Dome, the world’s largest glazed geodesic dome, replicates environments of the Namib Desert in western Africa, the Great Sandy Desert in Australia and the Sonoran Desert in the southwestern United States. The $16.5 million project includes a sand waterfall, a 50-ft. mountain, canyons, a cactus forest, and desert flora and fauna.
World Trade Center Slurry Wall – Manhattan, NY
The Kiewit-led joint venture was contracted to install an 80,000 square-foot slurry wall surrounding the foundation of the new Transit Hub for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, its north-south pedestrian concourses and World Trade Center buildings 2, 3 and 4.
Omaha World-Herald Freedom Press Center – Omaha, NE
Kiewit Construction Company completed this $55 million state-of-the-art Press Center project in 26 months. Precise scheduling and coordination proved to be the keys to success in installing the three German-manufactured presses, the largest installation of such presses in North America.
