Kiewit Engineering Co. (KECo) was organized in 1981 as an in-house engineering services support company for Kiewit’s construction operations. KECo succeeded Home Office Engineering and Estimating, which had previously provided engineering support from the 1940s through the 1970s. KECo carries on the legacy of its predecessor by tackling large, complex and technically challenging projects that have become synonymous with Kiewit’s reputation.

KECo provided geotechnical consultation for the Massachusetts Turnpike’s Ft. Point Channel – at the time of construction the deepest and largest soil mixing project in U.S. history. Several high-profile bridges are featured among KECo’s more recent projects including the monumental Bay Bridge Skyway Segment and the Benecia-Martinez Bridge in California.
