Huey P. Long Bridge
As the final contract of a series of four to upgrade the capacity of the existing bridge, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development selected a Kiewit-led joint venture the $433 million project. The project will add an additional lane in each direction to the Huey P. Long Bridge along with 8-foot emergency shoulders.
SR 519 - S Seattle Intermodal Access
Kiewit Pacific Co. was awarded the $66 million State Route 519 project to rechannel, widen and improve the First Avenue and South Atlantic Street intersection in Seattle. In addition to price, the Washington Department of Transportation chose Kiewit for submitting a construction plan that shaves nearly a year off the original schedule.
Folsom Dam Bridge
After Sept. 11, the Department of Homeland Security closed the Folsom Dam Road. Kiewit Pacific Co. is constructing a new roadway to bypass Folsom Dam Road and accommodate the 26,000 cars that will use the bridge per day.
Brightwater Pump Station
Kiewit Pacific Co. was awarded the $91 million project to construct the Brightwater Influent Pump Station and associated facilities. When complete the pump station will be a 130-million-gallons-per-day influent station that can expand to 170 million gallons per day.
Tacoma Narrows Bridge
The $615 million Tacoma Narrows Bridge is the first long-span suspension bridge to be constructed in the United States since 1964. Completed in July 2007, the new 5,413-ft.-long bridge will include a high occupancy vehicle traffic lane, a separated bicycle/pedestrian walkway, an 8,000-sq.-ft. toll plaza building, and configurations for a future secondary roadway or transit deck.
A-25 Bridge and Highway
To improve public transportation between Montreal and the North Shore as well as provide an alternate route for freight transportation, Kiewit is partnering with Parsons to design and build the extension of Autoroute 25, Quebec’s first public-private partnership project in the transportation market. The scope of work involves constructing 7.2 kilometers of a new four-lane highway and a six-lane cable-stayed bridge.
