Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Kiewit’s world-class fabrication yard was designed specifically for pipe fabrication and module assembly projects. Our 63-acre site has unrestricted access to the High Load Corridor along with adjacent rail access. Our yard includes:
- A 27,500 square-foot pipe fabrication facility
- A 10,000 square-foot warehouse
- An equipment maintenance shop
- 10 acres prepared for module staging
- An office with enough space for 90 staff members, clients and engineers
To accommodate our clients as well as our staff, we offer the following on site accommodations:
- Lunchrooms, wash facilities and parking for more than 500 staff and craft
- A training center
- A nursing station
- A cafeteria
With safety and quality in the forefront of every one of our projects, we insist on owning state-of-the-art equipment to get the job done and get the job done well. Our equipment allows us to fabricate 5,000 to 8,000 diameter inches of pipe spooling per week. Some of our equipment includes:
- Two bays – 60-foot by 140-foot
- A segregated 25-foot by 140-foot stainless steel welding bay
- Two 60-foot by 60-foot pipe cutting and material staging bays
- Two 10-tonne and six 5-tonne overhead cranes
- An 80-foot breezeway complete with overhead cranes in all three bays
- A Leibmerr 630 tower crane with a 40-tonne maximum lift capacity, mounted to travel on a 450-foot rail system and equipped with a 230-foot boom
- Outdoor pipe storage and pallet racking to accommodate about 40,000 linear meters of pipe and associated fittings
- RT cranes, zoom booms, forklifts, etc.
