It is our policy at Kiewit Energy Canada to meet project requirements as defined by the contract documents and adhere to corporate quality objectives. Our principal quality objectives are to meet or exceed clients’ expectations and eliminate rework by performing our work “right the first time.” We monitor our performance, using these objectives while we continually improve our work.

Kiewit Energy Canada’s goal is to be “The Best Contracting Organization on Earth.” In order to be the best, the Kiewit Energy Canada Quality Program is founded upon core principles that are prominently displayed at all of our projects. Every day, we create an environment focused on quality performance.

Meet Requirements

Kiewit Energy Canada’s Quality policy states “requirements, as defined by contracts, are to be met.” Company and project requirements for safety, workmanship, schedule and cost are required to deliver quality. Good quality performance includes preparation, control and maintenance of the records that support our compliance to the requirements. All of these issues are central to the Kiewit Energy Canada’s management processes.

Exceed Expectations

Client involvement is critical to meeting our principal objective of exceeding expectations. Openly communicating with our clients about quality helps us understand their needs. On Kiewit Energy Canada projects, it is common practice to regularly walk the project site with our clients and discuss progress as well as the quality of their product.

Right the First Time

We sum up Kiewit Energy Canada’s goal for quality with the phrase “right the first time.” The quality program focuses on ensuring supervisors monitor work so it is executed correctly, cost-effective and on schedule. A clear understanding of the contract requirements for each operation, putting a plan in place to fulfill the requirements and successfully executing the plan is how our clients know work will be “right the first time.”

Continual Improvement

We must continually improve our work, how we perform it and update what we consider good versus great work. Improvement comes from focusing on the details. Project management analyzes our results, looking for opportunities to improve. Root cause analyses are performed in order to eliminate repetitive quality issues and prevent future issues from occurring.

Quality Team

At Kiewit Energy Canada, quality begins with commitment and support from our senior management. Our detailed quality program is customized to ensure the work on each project is in full compliance with the project requirements, terms and conditions.

  • The project management is responsible and accountable for adherence to the Quality program.
