Safety Coordinator Job Description

This is a staff position reporting to the Safety Manager.

Responsibilities as a Safety Coordinator may include:
  • Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including the adherence of site safety policies and procedures.
  • Interact constantly with the project team.
  • Help conduct training, new hire orientation and safety meetings.
  • Assist in monitoring all heavy industrial construction work for compliance with safety requirements.
  • Conduct risk analysis of new and existing construction projects, systems, processes, products and physical workspaces to determine the existence and outcome of potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement programs and procedures to reduce the frequency, severity and cost of accidents, occupational illnesses and eliminate or control potential hazards.
  • Carry out duties in varying work environments including wide ranging weather conditions and terrain with the ability to travel and relocate as required for projects.
