Transit Facilities Experience
Planes, trains, and automobiles. Today’s means of transportation may differ from our first transit-oriented project in 1921 for the Yellow Cab Company, but much of the planning and logistical coordination is still required. Today, Kiewit Building Group has built a multitude of transportation-oriented projects ranging from multi-modal transportation hubs to airports to parking garages. Whatever your need, our team of professionals has the experience. Let us get you moving in the right direction.
In 1998, Kiewit Construction Company began work on the $60 million Whittier Access Tunnel, Alaska's first design-build transportation project. The Design-Build Institute of America awarded the project its 2001 Design-Build Excellence award for the best civil project over $15 million.
Constructed for Aksarben Future Trust and designed by DLR Group, this parking structure was completed in 2008 as part of the Aksarben Village Infrastructure project. The parking garage contains 650 stalls and is a precast concrete structure.
