Transit Facilities Experience

Planes, trains, and automobiles. Today’s means of transportation may differ from our first transit-oriented project in 1921 for the Yellow Cab Company, but much of the planning and logistical coordination is still required. Today, Kiewit Building Group has built a multitude of transportation-oriented projects ranging from multi-modal transportation hubs to airports to parking garages. Whatever your need, our team of professionals has the experience. Let us get you moving in the right direction.

Denver Union Station - Denver, CO
The Union Station Transit Improvement Project is transforming Denver’s historic Union Station into a regional multi-modal transportation hub. The 19.5 acre, $368 million project is located in downtown Denver and includes an underground bus terminal (23 FT below grade) containing 22 bus slips, 40,000 square-foot underground passenger concourse, eight-track commuter rail station and the relocation of the existing light rail station.
Whittier Access Tunnel - Whittier, AK
In 1998, Kiewit Construction Company began work on the $60 million Whittier Access Tunnel, Alaska's first design-build transportation project. The Design-Build Institute of America awarded the project its 2001 Design-Build Excellence award for the best civil project over $15 million.
Aksarben Village Parking Garage - Omaha, NE
Constructed for Aksarben Future Trust and designed by DLR Group, this parking structure was completed in 2008 as part of the Aksarben Village Infrastructure project. The parking garage contains 650 stalls and is a precast concrete structure.
AIA Concourse C - Anchorage, AK
Kiewit Construction Company was awarded the Phase I and Phase II contracts for a new nine-gate commercial aircraft terminal and Arrivals Hall at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. With an emphasis on partnering, crews were able to overcome scheduling and security challenges to complete the project much earlier than expected.
Blue Cross Parking Garage - Omaha, NE
The BlueCross Centre is a 316,000 square foot 10-story building with an adjacent three-story parking garage. The garage contains 1,195 parking stalls and consists of poured foundations, shear walls and ramps, precast columns, precast tees (post topped) and architectural spandrels.
Lincoln Parking Structure - Lone Tree, CO
The Lincoln Parking Structure project is the largest of the parking structures Kiewit built for Colorado’s T-REX. At 560,000 square feet, the seven-level structure has 2,105 parking stalls, one underground parking level and six elevated tiers.
