Education Experience
Since our first education project in 1916 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Joslyn Hall Academic Building, Kiewit has been committed to providing educational facilities with stellar building and renovating expertise. Providing well-designed, functional spaces for our leaders of tomorrow is crucial. Whether we are building residences for college or university campuses, K-12 facilities or training centers, we are determined to build or renovate environments that promote and encourage learning.
Our team can work with you to provide:
- Energy modeling that can lead to improved learning and cost efficiency within your facilities
- Accurate schedule budget cost control during the design and construction phases
- Coordinate our construction activities with your school calendar
By working closely with you and the entire team, we can tailor our construction expertise to ensure we meet all of your goals and expectations.
Kiewit Building Group Inc. is constructing this 120,000-square-foot, three-story building project. Mammel Hall is organized into four categories: administrative functions, faculty areas, classrooms and public spaces. The administrative and faculty areas serve as anchors at either end of the L-shaped structure.
Kiewit Building Group Inc. and Bennett Wagner & Grody Architects PC recently completed the renovation of Arnett Hall. As the first step in renovating all of the buildings in the Kittredge Complex, the Arnett Hall renovation promotes a living and learning environment by allowing upperclassmen to reside with faculty at a residence hall where classes are held.
The Hixson-Lied Science Center, built by Kiewit Building Group Inc., is a 150,000-square-foot center intended to be Creighton University's main entrance or “front door” on the north side of campus. The team created and maintained a highly detailed construction schedule with all tasks itemized, which resulted in a faster, more cost-effective construction schedule with virtually no disruption in adjacent spaces.
Despite some unforeseen challenges, Kiewit Construction Company completed this project two months ahead of schedule and was able to help the Owner save more than $1 million. Completed in September 2004 under a design-assist contract, Island Pacific Academy is the first private school built in fast-growing Kapolei.
Completed two months ahead of schedule, the $8.4 million design-build Lutheran High School of the Rockies project will accommodate 300 students. The 63,000-square-foot building includes classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, a gymnasium, locker rooms as well as a theatre stage, auditorium and administrative offices.
Completed on time, within budget and with zero recordable accidents, the $19 million Biological Research and Diagnostics (BiRD) Facility is an animal research and diagnostic facility for small arctic animals, birds and fish. The team integrated air-to-air heat recovery systems, high-efficiency lighting, occupancy sensors and other energy saving systems while meeting the strict National Institute of Health guidelines for laboratories.
