Kiewit Building Group Inc., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, and Bennett Wagner & Grody Architects PC recently completed the $10.8 million renovation of Arnett Hall. The renovation, as well as upcoming residence hall renovations, promotes a living and learning environment by allowing students to reside with faculty at a residence hall where classes are held.
The scope of work included renovating a 56,000-square-foot, 210-bed student residence hall. The hall features one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, as well as offices, common areas, lounges, laundry rooms and storage spaces.
Because of the design-build contract, the project was delivered on time, assisting the University of Colorado's enrollment processing for that year.
The Arnett Hall renovation project is the first step in renovating all of the buildings in the Kittredge Complex to encourage upperclassmen to remain on campus, which is the University of Colorado's goal. Each residence hall includes academic classrooms, along with study areas.
