Kiewit people are experts in their fields, recipients of some of the finest training in the industry. We know the success of our projects is determined by the success of our people, therefore we’re dedicated to their professional and technical development.
Training Opportunities
Kiewit has developed quality engineering and construction training programs. These courses are the foundation of our program and provide the basis for future success. Courses are provided in formwork, surveying, and planning and scheduling. As employees advance, they may be eligible for selection and participation in programs such as the Supervisory Conference, Superintendents’ School and Management Seminar.
Additional training programs are held annually to address needs in specific areas of construction. These programs include:
- Business Manager Training
- Equipment Maintenance Manager’s Training
- Maintenance Engineer Training
Our districts provide a variety of training opportunities throughout the year based on staffing requirements. Most districts provide courses in:
- Foremen’s training
- Estimating
- Project engineering
- Project management training
Educational Expense Reimbursement
Upon successful completion of accredited coursework, employees will be reimbursed 75% of the cost for books, tuition and lab fees (up to an established maximum) associated with approved educational or vocational courses.
Professional Certification or Registration
We encourage our employees to seek professional certification and licensing as appropriate for their career needs.
Full-time employees will be reimbursed for the cost of applying for and obtaining professional certification or registration directly related to their duties and position.
Professional Societies/Technical Associations
We encourage participation in professional societies, technical associations and industry organizations.
