Committed to the Community
Kiewit is committed to using Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBEs) on our projects. When considering DBEs, MBEs and WBEs, we take the firm's price, capabilities and contract goals into consideration.
Depending on the nature of the project, we solicit involvement by …
- Targeting portions of the contract for DBE involvement,
- Providing interested DBEs with adequate information about plans, specifications and requirements,
- Requesting assistance from minority/women community organizations; minority/women contractors' groups; local, state, and federal minority/women business assistance offices; and other organizations to recruit DBEs, and
- Assisting in locating bonding, lines of credit, insurance, necessary equipment, supplies, materials, or related assistance or services when appropriate.
Kiewit demonstrates a good-faith DBE effort when building our work. In addition, we comply with the statutory requirements of all federal, state and local regulations governing the use of DBEs, MBEs and WBEs.
