Kiewit Corporation among Fortunes top 25 companies in leadership

November 7, 2011

OMAHA, NEB. – Kiewit Corporation has been named to the 2011 list of North American Top Companies for Leaders, the most comprehensive study of organizational leadership in the world. Honorees were chosen through a comprehensive process conducted by Aon Hewitt, the global human resource consulting and outsourcing business of Aon Corporation (NYSE:AON), in partnership with The RBL Group, a strategic HR and leadership systems advisory firm, and Fortune magazine.

An expert panel of independent judges selected and ranked 25 winners among more than 470 companies, based on criteria including strength of leadership practices and culture, examples of leader development on a global scale, impact of leadership in communities in which they operate, business performance and company reputation.

According to Kiewit Corporation’s Vice President of Human Resources Michael Geary the company spends about six times the industry average on employee training and has long been noted for its extensive commitment to leadership development.

“We believe in and continuously invest in our people at all levels of the business,” Geary said. “As a company, we don’t seek external recognition. However, we can use this as an opportunity to benchmark how our leaders and processes compare to the best, regardless of the industry.”
